Q: SyncEXP detected as HackerDefender virus by McAfee VirusScan Enterprise 8.0, Scan engine 4400.

Ans:
We have resolved this false alarm by not decompressing the exe file since v1.88b. Just the zipped distribution package becomes better for that reason.
